Frequently Asked Questions
At what age can my child start French for Fidgets?
Most children start between the ages of 2 and 3, though some are ready before this. The best way to find out if your child is ready is simply to book a free taster and see how they get on.
What happens in class?
Classes are very active and include puppets, songs, games, role play, snacks, stories and craft. We use beautiful hand-sewn resources, made specially for French for Fidgets to give a full 3 dimensional experience and we work to a different topic each term so that children who are with us for several years continue to learn new vocabulary.
Do I stay with my child in class?
Yes. French for Fidgets classes are designed for you to attend with you child so that you can be fully engaged with their learning and support them as necessary outside the class. We hope that you will both enjoy the class together and find it a worthwhile experience that you will look forward to sharing.
I don't speak French. Does that matter?
No. It does help if you are prepared to show your child that you are willing to have a go too. Most parents find they pick up lots of useful holiday phrases and enjoy practising these with their child outside class.
How many children are in a class?
Our maximum is 10: big enough for a friendly atmosphere but small enough for children to receive individual attention.
Can I bring my baby along too?
Babies are welcome. All we ask is that if baby is crying you take him/her outside for a minute or two, just so that others in the class are not distracted.
What are the payment terms?
Fees are payable termly in advance; if you join a class halfway through a term you will be charged on a pro rata basis. Fees are currently £76.80 per term. The fee covers you and your child and all the snacks and take-home craft activities. If you are lucky enough to be going on a long holiday in the middle of term we cannot offer a refund but we are happy to talk about a friend coming in your place, which most people find is fair.
