Franchising - What do we look for in a franchisee?

We are looking for people who are hard-working and organised (the sort of person who returns phone calls on time and does their filing more than once a year!). You also need to be personable - that means you can put people at ease with your lovely smile and you can inject an element of humour in your classes (our cute puppets help with this).

It really helps if you're ambitious (ie you're the sort of person who wants to achieve 25% more turnover this year than you did last year) and it's great if you like learning new skills (eg getting to grips with Twitter or learning how to back up your pc properly).

You need to be child-friendly (that means you know the difference between Peppa Pig and Postman Pat) and the idea of running round a room pretending to be a helicopter should fill you with excitement rather than horror!

You certainly don't need to be a qualified teacher to run a Little Fidgets franchise as we train you ourselves and all the planning is done for you and the teachers you employ. In the past, Little Fidgets tutors have come from a wide range of backgrounds including law, biochemistry, HR and radio broadcasting. If you're going to teach classes yourself, your French or Spanish accent needs to be polished and it's a real asset if you can sing a tune like 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' without glass shattering.

You need a reasonable dose of confidence because, as a teacher, you'll have to deliver classes in a range of settings in front of adults and children. As your business grows you'll also need to be able to manage and motivate the teachers who work for you.

Potential franchisees should have sufficient funds to invest in their business (our franchise fee is currently £2500) and if you can demonstrate a grasp of cash-flow that's a real plus too.

Finally we're looking for people who think that everyone should learn at least one language and that language learning can be a truly rewarding and fun experience for all.
